We use the unique medium of experiential learning, games and a variety of activities to bring together children, youth and families from varying backgrounds and with differing abilities, providing them with opportunities for equal participation and interaction, learning appreciation and acceptance of one another, developing personal and social skills.
In 2007/2008, TREATS’ programmes reached more than 110 schools and organizations and more than 80,000 children, young people and families have been benefited from our programmes.
Since 1979, TREATS are committed to giving every child a chance to live and participate in and accepting, equal and integrated society. Your contribution has indeed changed the lives of many, let us share with you the following life-changing experience of our beneficiaries:
Wai Kin, a secondary school student“I tend to avoid mentally challenged students previously, but after joining TREATS integration camp, I really like to make friends with them. I learned to appreciate and accept everybody in the society and I missed them a lot.”
Cheuk Long, an autistic child“I played and learned with other people, I even participated in all sorts of experiential activities. This is a very special experience to me. I am also very happy to get to know many new friends.”
Tsz Yan, a mentally challenged girl“I was very nervous during the performance, thanks to the encouragement from all the volunteer workers, I really did it. I am very happy and I hope to have more chances to perform in the future.”
Ho Wai, a secondary school student“I used to be a self-centred person, I don’t care about anyone. But after the programme, I learned to be more considerate and caring.”
Mrs Leung, mother of an autistic son“My son used to live in his own small world. He won’t interact with other children. I could never imagine the changes he made after joining the Circus for All Integration Project. He is a lively child now. He always plays with his sister at home and see who is doing the circus skills better. He even taught his sister new techniques! I am so happy that he learned how to care for others and enter into a new world.”
Candy, our volunteer“Children with special needs are the same as everyone of us, they are sometimes even more attentive. Witnessing their enthusiasm in learning the circus skills, I have to be more diligent myself!”
Together we can make a different society for our children.
