TREATS is committed to the development of young people, especially disadvantaged ones. Through new experiences, social exposure and skills training, young people of all abilities are given an equal opportunity to develop and participate in society. In addition, by working closely with the business sector, we mobilize resources and prepare youth to meet fresh challenges in their life journey.
Integrate!-Youth Development and Training Project on Social Inclusion
This Project is supported by The Community Chest of Hong Kong.
Every year, 120 students from 4 mainstream schools and 4 special schools join together to go through intensive training and accomplish a series of modules and projects on social inclusion over 9 months (from September to May). Participants who have completed the training are appointed as ‘Youth Ambassadors’ and take on the mission of sharing their changes and inclusion experiences with schools and communities. The project covers important inclusion knowledge, communication and teamwork skills, and community networking and volunteering. As the grand finale of the project, the youth ambassadors organize the Journey to Integration Carnival in May to showcase their efforts and outcomes. The project emphasizes social interaction, group process, communication, participation and personal development in an equal platform. It encourages young people to reflect on their values, attitudes and behaviourstowards a more inclusive generation.
